St. Charles Bulletin for July 14,
2002
15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
The seed that falls on good ground will yield a fruitful harvest.
While our society and our economy are experiencing what can happen when
the seed of our investment falls on the rocky ground of greed, our parish
celebrates the generous productive soil that is St. Charles parish.
The Chair of our Finance Committee
advises me, that with recent gifts and pledge payments, St. Charles has
reached the mark required for a diocesan loan, 40% in cash of the anticipated
cost. Thanks for your bountiful offering of treasure and talent for the
future of St. Charles. Our new Parish Community Center
will stand as a sign of your self giving.
We welcome Dan Marrin as our new Parish Social
Justice Co-ordinator. He comes with a background in Social issues,
communications and multi-cultural education, especially the Latin American
experience. Please take the time to meet him and offer your support and
ideas.
Thanks,

THE CONTEMPLATIVE WAY

ST. CHARLES BORROMEO SCHOOL SHOLARSHIP FUND
Over the years, your outstanding generosity to our schools scholarship
fund has provided a Catholic Education to many underprivileged children.
For this, we are deeply grateful. We would like to again appeal to your
generosity for this very worthwhile service. No amount is too large or
too small to help prepare these children for a brighter future. Your continued
support is greatly needed and appreciated. Please make checks payable
to: St. Charles School Scholarship Fund. THANK YOU!
RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY
Older people are a special presence of God among us. This is so, not only
because old age brings wisdom, (it does not always do so), but because
the twilight of life is a time of extreme refinement. The spirit becomes
humble. There are fewer idols. False illusions and false promise crumble
and this enables older people to become more perceptive. Old age can be
a very dark hour, but for this very reason, it can also be the eve that
ushers in lifes Eternal Dawn.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION

prepare adults for informed, proactive evangelization in their homes,
their parishes, their workplace, and their communities. EPS

is designed to provide the knowledge and confidence needed for full participation
in the Churchs mission. Courses are offered locally during
the day and evening. For more information visit their website at: http://eps.trinitydc.edu,
