St. Charles Bulletin for June 16, 2002

11th Sunday in Ordinary Time

from the pastor...

ANNIVERSARY
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,

"You shall be to me a kingdom of priests." This weekend I celebrate the 34th anniversary of my ordination to priestly ministry. I also join with you in honoring all fathers. As the word of God indicates, priestly ministry needs to be seen within the context of a community where all are called to serve in a variety of ways, such as fathering.

I am called to nurture the gifts of all of God's people so that together we may build the kingdom of truth, of justice and love.

I rededicate myself to that honorable profession in a time when priesthhood is in crisis. On June 30 after the 6 PM Mass, I invite you to a dialogue on the outcome of the US Bishops' Meeting in Dallas. St. Charles Parish provides a wonderful environment for ministry in today's church. Your generosity in service continues to inspire and encourage me as together we answer God's call.

Rev. Gerry Creedon

WEBSITE CELEBRATES 4TH ANNIVERSARY WITH FAVORABLE POLL RATINGS
The recent online poll about the parish website, www.stcharleschurch.org, shows that parishioners are satisfied overall with the site as it celebrates its 4th anniversary. About 65% of respondents said they almost always find what they're looking for, while 35% said "in most cases." None reported "in some cases" or "rarely." Most respondents check the site weekly (60%), followed by those who said monthly (17%) or daily (13%). The most popular features were news & headlines, the celebrant's schedule, and homilies. Areas for improvement include a search engine, site map, and updated information for all ministries, which you will see later this summer. Look for the complete poll results later this month.
