St. Charles Bulletin for May 5,
2002
6th Sunday of Easter

Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
Last weekend's celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Benedictine
Sister Service [Catholic
Herald coverage] to St. Charles was a time of joy and rededication.
Their witness renews our faith hope.
May is a month for First Communion Celebration. We welcome new children
to the table of the Lord. The whole church is summoned anew in our time
to provide a faithful witness to our children.
May Christ's presence bring strength to them and their families.
Thanks for continuing your generous stewardship especially through this
weekend's Second Collection for our "Build the Spirit Campaign for
our new Parish Community Center."
BISHOP'S LENTEN APPEAL (BLA)
Thank you once again to all that have responded to the BLA this year.
Your gifts will allow the diocese to provide important funding over the
next year to many needs. Just a few of these include youth ministry, college
campus ministry, Catholic Charities and the Family Life Office.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!
Are you a retired Accountant or Bookkeeper looking for something to do
on Monday mornings? The Parish Office needs you! With the wonderful increase
in attendance to our Sunday Masses, we find that our collections have
also wonderfully increased. We are in need of additional volunteers to
help count the collection on Monday mornings. If you are able to help,
please contact Fr. Gerry or Tricia at the Parish Office. Thank you.
PROJECT LAZARUS FOOD PANTRY
Our food pantry needs replenishing ASAP! Please bring non-perishable items
to the Parish Office. Most needed items include: cereal, spaghetti and
spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, small bags of rice, canned goods such
as soups and vegetables, and powdered milk. Your donations of food are
very needed and appreciated. Many thanks!
Please note that baptismal preparation in English has been scheduled
for Sunday May 19th at 12:00 Noon in the Parish Library.
