Parish Sunday Bulletins

St. Charles Bulletin for April 21, 2002

3rd Sunday of Easter

from the pastor...

Dear St. Charles Parishioners,

On Saturday the 27th, the parish celebrates 80 years of service by the Sisters of St. Benedict to St Charles School and Parish. Children, families, teachers and parishioners have benefitted from countless hours of ministry by the Benedictine Sisters. Over a third of those years our own sister Benedict has served either as teacher or Principal. Please join me in honoring these outstanding religious women on April 27 at the 5 PM Liturgy and at a Reception with light refreshments afterward in the Cafeteria.

This dedicated witness brings light and encourangement in a difficult moment in our Catholic Church's history. I appreciated the fruitful discussion last Sunday evening with regard to recent scandals. I invite you to review our parish and diocesan policy to protect children. I have posted the policy statement in the main entrance of the church. I pledge myself to implement these measures conscientiously to insure the protection and safety of the children and young people of St. Charles. Let us make sure that no harm ever occurs that would injure children or their trust in a parish and school that have served so faithfully in the building of faith and moral character over eight decades of formation.

With Easter Hope,

Rev. Gerry Creedon

BISHOP'S LENTEN APPEAL (BLA)
