St. Charles Bulletin for December
23, 2001
4th Sunday of Advent

SEASONS GREETING FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners,
"They name him wonder-counselor, God-hero, prince of peace".
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, we are painfully
aware that the Holy Land experiences violence and bloodshed. We pray for a
new beginning of Peace for Israel and her Palestinian neighbors. We pray
that the USA may be able to assist in the renewal of dialogue. May the
Prince of Peace banish war and terror and bring a new era of harmony.
The scriptures speak of Jesus "tabernacling among us" and pitching his
tent. The church is a way of continuing the presence of Christ in the
world. The buildings are a way of giving concrete expression to that task.
May the new Parish Community Center that we hope to build in 2002 serve to
deepen His presence in this community. You are the living stones, who
through your generosity with time, talent and treasure build the kingdom of
the prince of peace.
Merry Christmas!
