St. Charles Bulletin for December
2, 2001
1st Sunday of Advent
FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
"Therefore you must also be ready". Advent
is our season for Christmas preparations. How do we turn these usually
hectic three weeks into a time of spiritual growth? We cannot or should
not avoid all the details of gift giving and festivity. However we need
to infuse all of our activities with a sense of purpose and meaning. Taking
time to "Share the Word" may be helpful. You have a daily meditations
book from St. Charles, "The Word Among Us", to serve as your
guide. You may use it for personal reflection or as an enrichment of your
table blessing when you light the Advent candles. Come and join me for
a presentation on Reconciliation
on Monday, December 3rd at 8PM in the Church. Turn your Christmas Confession
into an occasion for renewal. Inactive Catholics are welcome. Let us remove
the obstacles to full participation as we await the coming of the Prince
of Peace with Advent Hope.

P.S. The Latin Fiesta was a wonderful feast of food, music, song and
dance. It raised over 3,500 dollars for the new Parish Community Center.
Mil Gracias to all the volunteers who worked so hard!
SHEPHERDS NEEDED
Neighborhood "F" is looking for children who would like to accompany
St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary to seek lodging to welcome Baby Jesus.

is scheduled for December 16th at 4:00PM. After the posada the children
will celebrate in the cafeteria. A novena will begin after the posada
and will end on Christmas Eve. All Parishioners are welcomed. For details

can come.

Ministry
We are always
too busy for our children, we never give them the time or interest
they deserve. We lavish gifts upon them, but the most precious gift,
our personal association, which means so much to them we give grudgingly.
