St. Charles Bulletin for October
28, 2001
30th Sunday in Ordinary Time
FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
"The Lord is a God of justice, who knows no favorites". These
opening words from this Sunday's readings could be the introduction to
this Monday's Adult Education Presentation on the Catholic
Church and the death penalty. The lack of impartiality in the application
of this final punishment is one of the many reasons offered by the American
Catholic Bishops for their opposition to the death penalty.
Dan Mishleh, who works at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
in their dept. of social development and world peace, will present the
policy of our hierarchy on this important justice and life issue and lead
a dialogue on our response.
Next week Nov. 5th at 8 PM, I will offer a presentation on my own writings
and poems. Come and share the ways life experience forms our faith.
Heartfelt thanks to all who made our Oktoberfest
the best ever!
Praying for peace,

SENIOR TEA
