St. Charles Bulletin for October
7, 2001
27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
"The vision still has its time and will not disappoint". The
longing for a different world, a time without violence and hate, a world
at peace is at the heart of today's readings. These messianic hopes will
only be fulfilled when we act on our dreams.
I appreciate the many participants who joined Imam Anwar and myself in
our dialogue for peace last Monday. May our words lead to actions for
peace. Come join us at the Oktoberfest
and help build community with Sr. Benedict and the school boosters on
October 20th. While we have fun, we also raise funds for scholarships
and provide opportunities for others.
God bless all who join me in the CROP WALK. Walking or running (I hope
to run) will raise funds for a starving world. You'll still be back in
time for the Octoberfest!
I thank all our new volunteers, let's follow up soon on these commitments.
Peace, Salaam, Shalom,

items after Masses at the Youth Center on October 14th and October 15-18th
from 5-8 PM. The Krafthaus is looking for crafts to sell, especially handsome
items. The Silent Auction is continuing to accept donations. Donation
forms are in the back of the church. This year we need your help more
than ever! Many of our school's parents serve in the military and police
forces and may not be able to volunteer as much as in years past. Therefore,
we are asking our parishioners for extra support for the Yard Sale, Spaghetti
Dinner, Bake Sale, Krafthus Sr. B's BBQ and the Soda Booth. Please contact,

"Feel The Spirit"!
TOP PARISH WEB PAGES FOR SEPTEMBER
September was the busiest traffic month this year for your parish web
site, www.stcharelschurch.org. Many came to read the prayers from our
Mass of Remembrance and Hope as well as a Fr. Creedon's prayer before
Congress. In the competition of the ministries, the lector schedule edged
out a four-way tie amongst Education, RCIA, Social Justice and Community
Life. Fr. Chuck's house blessing remained popular, too. You'll find these
and 100's of more pages on your parish web site, so visit us this week
to keep connected to your parish.
