Parish Sunday Bulletins

St. Charles Bulletin for September 16, 2001

24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

from the pastor...FROM OUR PASTOR

Dear St. Charles Parishioners:

"Then the celebration began." The father of the prodigal son welcomed back his son with a party. This aspect of joy and celebration has been reintroduced to he liturgy of the Catholic Church in recent decades. This element clashes with traditional experiences of reverence. Let us make room for quiet while at the same time opening our hearts in praise and thanksgiving.
Are there ways we can incorporate the aspect of praise into our private prayer and family rituals?
These are some of the questions we will reflect on at the upcoming day of reflection "Lord. Teach us to pray", on September 22nd. Remember if you pre-register at the Office, you get half price!

"Praise the Lord!"

Rev. Gerry Creedon

P.S. At next Sunday's liturgies, we commission our Parish Council

PARKING FOR MASS
ALERT!! Please do not park at the curb on the Fairfax Drive side of the church. It is a "NO PARKING" zone and you may be ticketed. We are working on the traffic flow in the Church parking lot to avoid parking difficulties. Please be patient with our volunteers - they are working very hard to help everyone. Thank you for your cooperation!

BREAKING THE CYCLE OF CRIME
Help Fr. Gerry to help the Good News prison Ministry. All proceeds from this Good News Golf Marathon will support the Fairfax Chaplaincy at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Sponsor Fr. Gerry by pledging $1, $2, $5 or $10 per hole. Sponsorship forms can be picked-up in the Parish Office.

THANK YOU!
This bulletin is furnished to the parish without charge. The advertisements that appear completely defray all publishing costs with which the church would otherwise be burdened.
