St. Charles Bulletin for July 1,
2001
Thirteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time
This bulletin also included a Work Camp 2001 insert (PDF 24kb) explaining how you can help our youth
FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear St. Charles Parishioners:
Mimi Fitzgerald, Teresa Madrid and our architect Michael Foster did an
excellent presentation on our plans
for a new Community Center at last weekend's liturgies. A brochure
with the schematics is available today for those who missed last week's
promotion or visit the website at www.stcharleschurch.org/center.
These plans are preliminary. At town meetings and other occasions, opportunities
will be offered to all parishioners to offer their feedback and suggestions.
This Center will be a collaborative effort, involving ALL the people of
St. Charles. One-third of our community have already provided half the
funds needed. The other two-thirds were asked to offer their pledges,
great or small. All are asked for a sacrificial commitment will help our
planning. This weekend we are expecting our Haitian priests, Pere Jocelyn
and Marquis, to visit with us. Our solidarity
with Cavaillon and Gros Marin offers us opportunity to reach out to
others in need even as we take care of our own requirements. The sponsors
of Haitian students will want to offer a special welcome, since we feel
the bond of twinning in a very personal way.
VOUS ETES LES BIEN-VENUS!

PARKING FOR MASS
GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY has made available to St. Charles parishioners
75 parking spaces on their surface lot during Sunday Masses. The parking
lot entrance is located on Kirkwood between Fairfax Drive and Washington
Blvd. Please note that George Mason also uses the lot during these times
and cannot be responsible for any property loss or damage. In the spirit
of cooperation, we thank them for their consideration.
ST. CHARLES PARKING:
We are working on plans for a "one-way" traffic flow in the
Church parking lot to avoid parking difficulties. Please be patient with
us during this transition. If you would like to volunteer to help, please
call Marvin Mayorga at the Parish Office. Thank you for your cooperation!

Ministry
Joy
should arise from the birth of every baby that is born, so that he
is received with love and preparations made for the possibility of
his growth in body and spirit. In this way, one cooperates in the
very work of Christ, who defined his mission thus:
"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"
--Pope
John Paul II, January 24, 2001
