St. Charles Bulletin for 11-12-2000

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

from the pastor...FROM OUR PASTOR

Dear St. Charles Parishioners:

Our core ministries in the areas of Liturgy, Education and Social Justice meet this week. See the calendar on our website or call the office for details. Our parish programs continue to grow in number and diversity. 200 more volunteers signed on at our volunteer fair. I appreciate the leaders of these various ministries who take the time to join with our staff and myself to consider ways of offering our services more effectively. If you have ideas for St. Charles’ development, do not hesitate to bring them directly to me or to one of these meetings.

On Sunday afternoon at 2 PM a Town Meeting/Assemblea for our Latin American Community will take place in the Church.

Next weekend, we will do a major presentation on our Parish Community Center Project.

Let us continue to listen to the Spirit’s promptings!

Rev. Gerry Creedon

RCIA NEWS

The Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens is an important rite, which marks a stage of growth in the faith journey. The Rite of Welcoming is where those who are seeking to complete their Christian initiation through the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist will be welcomed into our church community. Respect LifeMinistry

Sometimes it seems few candidates and no party fully reflects our values. But now is not a time for retreat. The new millennium should be an opportunity for renewed participation. We must challenge all parties and every candidate to defend human life and dignity, to pursue greater justice and peace, to uphold family life, and to advance the common good.
