SPECIAL OUTREACH FOR THOSE WHO CARE...

Thank you all for past contributions of food for the poor. Though it is summer and food drives are not necessarily on our minds, we still have hungry neighbors around us. Empty food baskets are placed at the entrances to the Church doors. They are left there for each of you to give food items to those struggling to feed themselves and their families. Even in Arlington, we have children with empty stomachs. Let us not fail to recognize the poverty in our midst. We can provide love and support to the poor with gifts of food. Every work of love brings a person face to face with our God. Canned goods, non-perishable items such as baby food, cooking oil, cereal, rice and peanut butter are always needed. Food is then disbursed to Arlington agencies and families in need. Please be generous. You may contact Brigid Doherty in the Parish Office for further information.

SPONSOR OF THE WEEK: Our special thanks to MANCINI TECHNICAL RECRUITING for supporting our Parish.

MINISTRY

The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother.

-- St. Thérèse of Lisieux

RCIA

Are you interested in learning about the Catholic faith? The RCIA is a process through which individuals who may be interested in joining the Catholic church come together to learn about the faith. An Inquiry Group will begin meeting at St. Charles in early September. If you wish to have further information regarding the RCIA, contact Kathy Rafferty at 528-6734.

ON THE WAY

Join the junior high students from On The Way for a day of fun at Kings Dominion on Friday, July 24th. Discount tickets can only be purchased in advance. Call Angela Reading at 703-532-5636 for more information.

C’YA

We’re looking for a few enthusiastic volleyball players interested in taking on Blessed Sacrament in a “friendly” game of V-ball this Tuesday. Call Nick Baric (703-276-2711) if you’re interested. We’ll meet at St. Charles at 6:30 PM on July 21st and carpool to the game. For other July activities, pick up a C’YA calendar at the back of the Church or surf on over to www.stcharleschurch.org/CYA.

THANKS AND PRAISE!

Merci Beaucoup (thank you, buckets!)!!! to all of the wonderful God parents of the students attending the Catholic school at our sister parish in Cavaillon, Haiti. All of the students have been sponsored thanks to your generosity. Should you wish to sponsor a student but missed out, please contact Christina Holtz at 703-465-9861 and we’ll ask our sister parish for more God children. God bless!
